The college of science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar under the title “Measuring concentrations of some heavy metals in the water and sediments in some stations at Shatt al-Arab River” by MSc student Abdullah Hammood Hussain. 
This study aimed to determine the extent of pollution of the Shatt Al-Arab river by measuring some heavy metals and ions in different seasons and places. Heavy metals pollution included its sources, forms, and risks on living organisms.
