in the Iraqi Geological Journal, which is indexed in Scopus database. the study aims to Identifying the mineral heterogeneity and the type of sedimentation and determining the depositional environment of the overlapping layers in the Lower Fars (Fatha) Formation. The presence of evaporites as well as the presence of some types of shells indicates a shallow sedimentary environment from lagoon to a tidal environment.
