Master's thesis at the University of Basrah on Studying the Geotechnical Properties of the Soil in Basra Governorate Using Geographic Information Systems

A Master's thesis entitled (Studying the Geotechnical Properties of the Soil in Basra Governorate Using Geographic Information Systems). Hold at the College of Science, Geology Department. The presenter Hammam Hayder Issa  demonstrates the most important objectives of studying Calculation of some geotechnical properties of soils such as shear strength, the angle of internal friction, ultimate bearing capacity, and compression index through the N-Value in the eastern and western parts and Digitize geotechnical maps by arc map 10.8 with geotechnical info for the city of Basra’s like standard penetration test, shear strength, and ultimate bearing capacity in the eastern and western parts. The results reached the shear strength, the angle of internal friction, ultimate bearing capacity, and compression index and SPT in the western part of Basra governorate are higher than the eastern part in Basra governorate and that the western part of Basra governorate is sandy soils. value in it is higher than the eastern part in Basra Governorate, which was clay soils.
