Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Saheb, and the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the slogan “Our natural resources are the source of our national economy,” the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Mowaffaq Fadel Al-Shahwan, chaired the first geological scientific conference ( Geo Basra-1) Which was held in the central conference hall in the College of Science and in the presence of the President of Basra University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of Al-Maqal Al-Ahlia University, Dr. Badr Neamat Al-Badran, deans of faculties from Basra University, and Dean of the College of Science from Anbar University, Dr. Imad Al-Hiti. The conference aims to expand scientific perceptions and open horizons of communication between Researchers from Iraq’s various universities by discussing several axes in the many fields of geology, providing a scientific space to view the scientific output of researchers, strengthening bonds between researchers and establishing channels of scientific cooperation
