The lecturers in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Dr. Mustafa A. Najem and Shaima S. Raheem, participated in the Second International Conference on Environment and Marine Sciences, which was held at the College of Science.

The participation included a lecture entitled Biodegradation of oxymatrine insecticide by Aspergillus species.

The study aims to determine the concentrations of the insecticide oxymatrine in the soil and to know the role of some fungi in the bio-breaking process of the insecticide in the laboratory with different concentrations and on different media.
