The lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Mua’atez Hekmmet Othman, participated in the Second International Conference on Environment and Marine Sciences, which was held at the College of Science.

The participation included a lecture entitled Assessment of some air pollutants within the vicinity of Basra Oil Refinery of the South Refineries Company.

The lecture aims to determine the temporal and spatial variation in the concentration of gaseous pollutants and assess the air quality for a number of industrial areas, including the location of the Basra oil refinery, and compare it with previous studies and local and global determinants.
