The lecturer in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra, Dr. Maitham Abdullah Ghaley, participated in the Second International Conference on Environment and Marine Sciences, which was held at the College of Science.

The participation included a lecture entitled The reality of diatoms species composition and ecology of Shatt Al-Arab River

The objective of the lecture: To introduce the significant change in the qualitative composition of diatoms in the Shatt Al-Arab, and its indication for the great change in the environment of the Shatt Al-Arab and the ensuing other environmental effects on the rest of the neighborhoods as well as the residents of the province who use this water.
