Dr. Najah Aboud Hussein, a lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Department of Ecology, University of Basra, gave a lecture at the College of Agriculture, Department of Fish and Marine Resources.

The lecture, entitled " Major biotopes and macro ones in Southern Iraqi marshes," included introducing these systems, identifying the differences between them, identifying them, and evaluating their environmental importance.

The lecture aims at the necessity of directing to conduct comparative studies between these ecosystems and study each system separately and study the levels of productivity and secondary and high-end aquatic plants and determine the cycles of oxidation and imbalance in the marshes
