The Department of Ecology, in cooperation with the Center for Marine Sciences, organized the Second International Conference on Environment and Marine Sciences, under the auspices of the President of the University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Sciences, Dr. Mowaffaq Fadel Al-Shahwan, and the Director General of the Marine Sciences Center, Dr. Nuri Abdel Nabi Nasser, on the hall of the late Sabah Abdel-Aziz Conferences.
The conference aims to discuss several axes in the fields of aquatic environment, environmental chemistry, physics and climate change.
The conference was opened with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs and the national anthem, followed by the speech of the President of the University, the speech of the Dean of the College of Sciences and the speech of the Director of the Marine Science Center.
The conference was attended by a number of respected college deans and teachers and guests from the state departments.
It is worth noting that the conference was held for two days, both in person and electronically, and the number of research presented during the conference was nearly fifty, in which several professors and researchers interested in the topic of the conference's research participated.
