University of Basrah organizes a seminar Production of special secondary plants products

The College of Science at Basra University organized a seminar (Production of special secondary plants products for the Ph.D. student Zainab Abdel Wahid Saeed. The study aims to identify the response of the plant parts (the growing tops of the leaves, the bases of the leaves and the foci), taken from the Catharanthus roseus plant, in the induction of Callus tissue on a nutrient medium equipped with different concentrations of growth regulators, induction and development of Callus on different cultivation media. Solid and liquid using the bioreactor for large-scale production, stimulating the vegetative branches outside the living body using the stem cuttings, making a comparison of the amount of alkaloid materials formed from the leaves of the spring plant, field and tissue produced, in order to know the most quantitative production of alkaloid anti-cancer compounds. The study also included the use of abiotic agents that stimulate the production of secondary compounds (Alkaloids) in one of the biotechnologies for growing cells and tissue organs with solid and liquid media by exposing Callus and the resulting vegetative branches to different concentrations of environmental stress factors such as NaCl and Poly ethane. Glycol (PEG) and Nano silver for the purpose of increasing the production of the anticancer alkaloid vincristine and vinblastine.
