<p>The College of Science at the University of Basrah is distinguished by its unique scientific and academic activity. It has developed many scientific colleges, departments and research centers, which developed to be an independent robust academic institutions. For example, the Center for Marine Sciences and the College of Computer and Information Technology. This uniqueness of the College of Science and its various departments that enrich the society since its foundation in 1964 until today, have enhanced the effective role and responsibility of our students toward the society. Especially as the quality of our College is the main aim that we strive to achieve and consolidate. Scientific research is the main pillar in the College of Science, which makes the adoption of the college for any development project in the country is mainly a research, development and entrepreneurship. This interactive link between our College and the various branches of the State in the fields of research and development has made the College of Science attractive to more students and researchers. Our College has 358 Lecturer, and welcomes every year hundreds of students from different cities in Basra and other governorates. Through our administration, we seek to achieve scientific progress first and to enhance the interactive role with society in a modern and vital scientific framework.</p>
