The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized an online scientific lecture within the summer training sessions on methods of collecting water, sediment and soil samples and extracting and measuring pollutants in them.

The lecture given by Dr. Makiya Mohalhal Khalaf, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology, included introducing the tools for collecting samples according to the type of pollutants to be studied and the amount of pollution.

The lecture touched on the scientific methods adopted in extracting these pollutants and introducing the appropriate devices to measure these pollutants and the mechanism of action for each of them.
