A lecturer from the University of Basrah published a paper indexed at ScopusQ4 database.

Mohammad Salim Moyel published a paper entitled Adopting the Water Quality Index to assess the validity of groundwater in Al-Zubair city southern Iraq for drinking and human consumption in Ecology, Environment and Conservation journal ,which is indexed in Scopus Q4 database.

The results concluded that the groundwater in the study area varied in its quality and degree of pollution, spatially and temporally, depending on the different sources of pollution.
