Dr. Sattar jabar Al kafajy and Dr. Wasan Sabeeh Hamdan a lecturers in the Department of Geology, participated in a symposium entitled a safe environment in light of contemporary challenges and problems in Basra Governorate, which was held by the Directorate of the Environment Department in cooperation with the Tigris Protectors Association nongovernmental organization. The symposium dealt with a presentation of the most important problems of Basra Governorate on the impact of hydrocarbon waste and the urban environmental pollution of the city of Basrah.
