The College of Science at University  of Basrah organized a seminar on monitoring of air and soil pollution in oil fields, south of Basra province.

The seminar, in which a master's student, Salam Muhammad Abd, lectured, aims to identify the types of environmental pollutants in the air and soil near the oil fields in Basra province.

The seminar dealt with the sources of air and soil pollution, their classification, and their potential environmental effects on humans and other components of the environment.

It also explaines the clarification of the spread of oil fields in the province and the resulting pollutants and the mechanisms used in periodically monitoring pollution and risks assessment.
