The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Production of anti-cancer drugs)

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Screening of some fungal species for the production of anti-cancer drugs) by the graduate student Eman Hussein Bshara The study aims to 1- Primary screening of endophytic fungi producing Paclitaxel. 2- Production or isolation of Paclitaxel from some endophytic fungi, describing the compound and diagnosed it using  Thin layer chromatography (TLC), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) and UV Spectroscopy. 3- Assess the potential impacts of Paclitaxel compound On breast cancer MCF-7 the study was recommended Conducting extensive studies on previously unexamined plants to isolate fungi that colonize their healthy tissues, and to test their ability to produce bioactive compounds, especially pharmaceutical drugs. It is necessary to rely on the genetic diagnosis of species and genera of fungi inside the plant using specialized primers.
