The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Short Backfire Antennas)

The College of Science at Basra University organized a seminar (Theoretical study of short backfire antenna as a body Revolution) for the graduate student (Msc) Ali Kareem Neamah.
The study aims, for the first time, a theoretical analysis of calculation the radiation patterns of a short backfire antenna as a body of revolution using the moment method. Also, this work includes a solution of the integral equations for the electric and magnetic fields depending on the shape of the body of revolution, that is generated from rotating the curve around the axis of symmetry (z-axis). In addition, by applying the equivalence principle to find the density surface of the electric and magnetic currents from the same fields and using the trigonometric functions and Fourier series in the representation of these currents, as well as choosing the functions depending on a Galerkin's technique.
The study recommended to design a short backfire antenna using other feeders (rectangular or circular or coaxial waveguides), in addition to another antenna design with conical reflector instead of plane reflector.
