PhD thesis at Basrah University to be discussed Molecular characterization and immune status in mucocutaneous herpes simplex virus infection patients

Ph. D thesis at the faculty of Science at the University of Basrah Molecular characterization and immune status in mucocutaneous herpes simplex

virus infection patients and showed the researcher's thesis (Waffa Bukheet Abdullah ). Thesis aims to Characterization of clinical manifestations, molecular detection, and immune status in patients with mucocutaneous herpes simplex virus infection in the city of Basra, southern Iraq and concluded that
No DNA amplification was found for HSV2, in present study   . Herpetic gingivostomatitis disease, and the herpetic labialis disease dominated the age groups of  1- 10 years and  31-40 years, respectively

Molecular detection results showed that the aa differences were located within CTD of gB, in aa P720T  of gH, and A91V amino acid change in gL within the gL domain. Platelet counts and CD137 expression were found as  potential biomarker for assessing immune status. In contrast CRP may not be used as a sole diagnostic marker for HSV-1 infection.
and recommended Future research should include longitudinal follow-up of patients from acute infection through recovery.
