The University of Basrah, in coordination with the local government, organized an initiative to plant a thousand trees at the Karma Ali colleges complex. Under the guidance of the administrative deputy governor Maher al-Amiri, the follow-up cell has identified the appropriate places for agriculture so that the university will be transformed into large green spaces in the coming years. The initiative aims to increase green cover, Combat Desertification, and improve the university environment as part of the National afforestation campaign launched by the prime minister.
