The college of science at the University of Basrah organized a workshop on carbonaceous rocks, magmatic specifications and their relationship to oil exploration .The workshop aimed at clarifying what carbonate sedimentary rocks are and their mineralogical characteristics, and included a seminar attended by the lecturer M.M.  Khaled's gift drew him.. And M.Dr. Zainab Munther Abdulwahab. Carbonate sedimentary rocks, their rock characteristics, how to determine the best rocks that are suitable as oil reservoirs and source rocks, and the most important modification processes that can improve the specifications of the reservoir and increase the quality of the reservoir. The workshop recommended that the best types of magmatic rocks are granular rocks that are devoid of intermaterial and elongate, and their mechanical specifications are high and contain high permeability, in addition to conducting more workshops and seminars that benefit students of primary and higher studies so that they can learn the exact description of rocks under a microscope and identify sedimentary environments.
