The Department of Ecology at the University of Basra’s College of Science organized a seminar on the impact of land use on groundwater quality in western Basra.

Presented by postgraduate student Othman Salem Abed, the seminar aimed to evaluate how land use and human activities affect groundwater quality in the region.

The session addressed groundwater pollution sources associated with industrial, agricultural, and urban activities, examined changes in the water's physical and chemical properties, and identified the relationship between these properties and land use patterns.
