Dr. Mohammed Salem Muwail, a faculty member at the College of Science, University of Basra, participated in a meeting of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Council.

The meeting was held at the Basra Governorate headquarters, chaired by the Administrative Deputy Governor, Mr. Maher Al-Amiri, and attended by representatives from various departments and institutions concerned with environmental affairs in the governorate.
The meeting addressed a number of environmental issues and concerns, focusing on ways to mitigate their impacts and implement solutions. Discussions also covered mechanisms to enhance cooperation and coordination among relevant entities, thereby supporting efforts to improve environmental conditions in Basra Governorate.
Participants emphasized the importance of unifying government and academic efforts and coordinating roles among the concerned institutions. This collaboration aims to foster the development of scientific and practical solutions to environmental challenges and to support measures for protecting and preserving the governorate's natural resources.
