PhD Thesis at Basrah University Discusses Inflammatory and Molecular Biomarkers

A PhD thesis at the College of Science, University of Basrah, entitled "Comparative Study of Parasitological Indices and Apoptosis Gene Expression in Human Intestinal Parasite Infections," was presented by Sufyan Abdulrahman Abdul Ali Al-Hilfi. The thesis aimed to investigate parasitological, inflammatory, oxidative stress, and apoptosis-related molecular changes in human intestinal protozoal infections. It concluded that amoebiasis induces stronger inflammatory, oxidative, and apoptotic responses than giardiasis. The study recommended integrating molecular and immunological biomarkers into routine diagnosis and conducting further research to improve disease management.
