The Department of Mathematics at the College of Science discussed a PhD thesis titled " Stability and Onset of Double-Diffusive Convection in Porous Layers with LTNE, Non-Fourier Heat Flux, and Finite Interfacial Transfer" by graduate student Haifa Assi Kawi. This dissertation aims to present three mathematical models to formulate and analyze linear and nonlinear stability (Linear & Energy Stability) in complex porous systems. It mathematically reveals the existence of a subcritical stability zone (Ra_E < Ra_L) under the influence of the Local Thermal Instability (LTNE) model and vertical forced flux.
