The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Phenotype and Genotype Identification of Fungal Isolates in Otomycosis Patients with Emphasis on their Enzymatic Activity and Antifungal Sensitivity

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Phenotypic and Genotypic Characterization of Yeast Isolates from Otomycosis Patients and Detection of Azole -Antifungal Resistance Genes) by the graduate student Haider Abdul amair Ali.

The study aims: Detection of resistance genes in Candida species isolated from otomycosis patients in Basra Governorate hospitals and evaluation of some alternative treatments for antifungal-resistant isolates.

Included: Isolate and identify pathogenic yeast from otomycosis patients, Phenotype and genotype detection of yeast isolates by morphological, biochemical, and molecular methods (PCR & ITS sequencing), Determine antifungal susceptibility patterns, Genotypic detection of azole resistance genes (ERG11 & CDR1 genes) and Evaluate the antiseptic agents against resistant Candida species isolates.
