The University of Basrah Organizes a Panel Discussion on the Preparation of Nanomaterials for Photocatalysis.

The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled (Preparation and Characterization of Nanoscale Metal Oxides for Photocatalysis and Heavy Metal Removal), presented by Ph.D. student Atyaf Mohammed Abdul-Muttalib, and attended by several faculty members and graduate students.

The study aimed to prepare advanced nanostructures by combining metal oxides with metal sulfides to form heterojunctions, while characterizing their structural, morphological, and optical properties using advanced measurement techniques.

It also addressed the impact of this combination on improving the efficiency of nanomaterials and their applications in heavy metal removal and the degradation of organic dyes.
