The Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a seminar on nematodes and their role in the balance of ecosystems.
The seminar, presented by Master's student Fatima Abbas Ali, aimed to highlight the impact of the phylum Nematodes on plants and animals, their pathogenicity, and the control methods used locally and globally.
The seminar also addressed the benefits that nematodes provide to the ecosystem through the decomposition of organic matter in the soil surrounding plant roots, which benefits agricultural and field plants.
