The Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a scientific seminar entitled "Methods of Monitoring and Measuring Outdoor Air Pollutants."

The seminar aimed to explain the basic concepts of air pollution, its sources, the importance of air quality monitoring, and the most important modern monitoring technologies.

The seminar, presented by Mr. Hussein Talib Khuraibish, a faculty member in the Department of Ecology, included a discussion of the role of satellites in monitoring pollutants on a large scale and the importance of verifying this data using ground-based measurements.

The seminar recommended the importance of integrating various measurement technologies to obtain accurate and comprehensive data, which supports sound environmental decision-making and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and preserving human health and the environment.
