Faculty Member from the Department of Ecology Participates in the Knowledge Economy Conference

Dr. Nayef Mohsen Aziz, a faculty member in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, participated in the Knowledge Economy Conference: Entrepreneurial Universities and a Sustainable Economy, held at the University of Baghdad. The conference saw wide participation from academic leaders, researchers, and representatives of governmental institutions and the private sector, clearly emphasizing the importance of transitioning to a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.

The conference focused directly on the practical aspects of the knowledge economy, developing entrepreneurial academic programs based on market-oriented learning outcomes, and the necessity of restructuring curricula to align with the needs of productive sectors. It also addressed enhancing students' practical and innovative skills to improve employability and bridge the gap between education and the labor market.

The conference concluded by emphasizing the need for serious institutional action to build an integrated knowledge economy system in Iraq, based on the complementary roles of universities, the industrial sector, and funding bodies, in accordance with the requirements of sustainable development and economic transformation.
