The Department of Physics at the College of Science, University of Basrah, organized a seminar titled “Advanced Laser Systems and Their Modern Applications,” presented by Dr. Khansa Abdullah Nasser. The seminar aimed to highlight the physical principles of laser operation and the role of modern technologies in developing practical applications.
The session included an explanation of phase-locking technology for generating ultra-short pulses and its importance in reducing thermal effects and performing precise operations, as well as a review of laser applications in manufacturing, surgery, and scientific research.The seminar recommended supporting research in nonlinear optics and the development of modern laser technologies.
