The University of Basrah is hosting a panel discussion on green hydrogen.

The Department of the College of Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion titled “Photocatalytic Water Splitting for Hydrogen Production: Fundamentals and Principles,” presented by Dr. Marwa Jawad Kazem. The seminar aimed to introduce the technology of photoelectrolysis of water as a sustainable solution for producing green hydrogen using solar energy. It also included an explanation of the mechanism of semiconductor-based photovoltaic cells and highlighted the challenges related to efficiency and stability.

The panel recommended developing nanomaterials and protective coatings to enhance performance and support the transition to clean energy.
