The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Science participated with several student research projects in the Imamah Corner Festival, sponsored by the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, which was held at the University of Basra, Bab Al-Zubair Colleges Complex/College of Law.

The festival was attended by a number of religious figures and a large gathering of female university students wearing the Zainabiyah abaya. The festival included recitations from the Holy Quran, religious chants, presentations and discussions of several research papers on Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and the distribution of symbolic gifts and certificates of appreciation to the participants.
