The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar (Medical applications of pigments produced by Fusarium spp.) by the graduate PhD student ( Eman Hussain Bishara) . The study aims To identify the fungal species that produce pigments and to highlight the most important producing fungi (Fusarium fungus). and included a general introduction to fungi and their environmental, medical, agricultural, and industrial importance. It then focused on Fusarium fungal, some of their species, the importance of their secondary metabolism, and their classification according to their chemical composition. also the most important types of pigments produced by Fusarium and their various applications in medicine as antimicrobial agents. Furthermore, the seminar included Understanding how these pigments effect on pathogenic bacteria and fungi? by explaining their mechanism of action on these cells.
