The Department of geoscience at the Faculty of Science - University of Basrah organized a seminar on stress analysis using the FaultKin program and based on seismic sections. The seminar aimed at analyzing the stress and motion on geological faults that led to the movement of faults and earthquakes in a particular area, which helps in predicting their future behavior. The seminar in which the teachers attended included (M.Dr. Nagin Abdul Jalil Abdul Majid, m.M. Zeinab Abbas Ajil) explained the FaultKin program in the analysis of stress and movement on faults, which helps researchers assess the activity of faults and the severity of earthquakes in a particular area and explain their presence and how to identify and interpret them in seismic sections to find out the scenario that occurred during ancient times and the type of tectonic movements that led to the formation of faults, which leads to a clear understanding of how to create a geological model that takes full account of tectonic events and influential stresses.
