





The Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a seminar entitled "The Impact of Modern Technology and Social Media on Family Disintegration: A Legal and Psychological Study."
The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of modern technology and social media, their positive aspects in human life, and their negative aspects in disintegrating the family, weakening family dialogue, and leading to isolation and withdrawal from real-world social interaction.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Hanaa Abdulnabi Al-Abadi, Dr. Wahaj Khudair Abbas, and Dr. Rafif Abdulhafiz Muhammad Taqi, addressed how to utilize these technologies to keep pace with developments and as tools for learning and teaching.
The seminar recommended the necessity of social integration and pursuing hobbies during free time instead of wasting time on electronic games and staying up late, and avoiding viewing various types of content that ultimately lead to what is known as "brain decay."
