Faculty members from the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Basra participate in the elections of the Iraqi Geologists Syndicate.

A number of college members from the Department of Earth Sciences at the College of Science participated in the elections for the Iraqi Geologists Syndicate. The elections, which saw wide participation from 1,187 geologists, were overseen by a judge and 60 staff members from the Supreme Judicial Council. The elections for the Syndicate Council and the Disciplinary Committee for the 20th electoral cycle were completed.

The election results saw Mr. Saad Obaid Mohammed elected as President of the Geologists Syndicate for a second term, while Dr. Imad Kadhim Abdul Zahra was elected as Vice President. Additionally, Dr. Harith Abdul Halim Al-Saad was elected to the Syndicate's Disciplinary Committee, and Dr. Mazen Abdul Adheem was elected to the Syndicate Council.

This participation reflects the College of Science at the University of Basrah's commitment to strengthening its academic and professional presence in specialized syndicate activities and supporting scientific and professional development across various disciplines.
