Within the framework of the University of Basrah's endeavor to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation with Iraqi educational institutions, on Thursday, 22/2/2026, a twinning and joint cooperation agreement was concluded between the University of Basrah, represented by the president of the university, Prof. Dr. Mohannad Jawad Kazim, and under the authorization of the dean of the College of Science, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Imam Riahi, and the College of the Two Rivers Junction University, represented by the dean of the college, Dr. Sajid Hussein Abbasi, and this is in the Faculty of Science at the University of Basrah.

This agreement came to establish academic twinning between the Department of Life Sciences and the Department of Pathological Analyses at the Faculty of Science at the University of Basra and their counterparts at the Two Rivers Junction College, in the presence of the associate dean of the Faculty of Science for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Adel Ali Abdul Hassan, along with esteemed members of the Faculty of Science Council.
