The College of Science in the Department of Mathematics discussed a seminar entitled Better Approximation by New Bivariate  GBS-Sequences of Linear Positive Operators for postgraduate student Ahmed F. Jabbar. The seminar aims to introduce three modifications of sequences of Baskakov operators to study the ordinary approximation of unbounded functions. Convergence theorems and Voronovskaja-type asymptotic formulas for positive and non-positive operators were discussed, and a recurrence relation of the m-th order moment for first modification was found.
