Faculty Member from the Department of Ecology Participates in a Training of Trainers Course

As part of efforts to enhance academic capabilities in the field of climate change, Dr. Dunya Ali Hussein, a faculty member in the Department of Ecology at the College of Science, participated in a Training of Trainers (ToT) course on climate change adaptation. The course was held at Al-Nahrain University – Baghdad from December 7-10, 2025, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry of Environment, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The training program comprised seven scientific and skills-based modules and included practical workshops and case studies conducted within scientific groups. It aimed to keep pace with global developments in climate change, provide the community with qualified personnel capable of supporting the preparation and implementation of national adaptation plans, and strengthen the role of higher education in addressing environmental challenges.
