The workshop, organized by the Department of ecology at the College of Science, aimed to explain the link between long-term exposure to air pollution and cognitive decline, as well as the increased likelihood of developing Alzheimer's.
The workshop, presented by lecturer Hussein Talib Khuraibish from the Department of Ecology, covered air pollution, its types, natural and human-caused sources, and the serious health effects of air pollutants on the nervous system and brain.
The workshop recommended a set of preventative guidelines, including reducing exposure to polluted air, improving indoor air quality, and adopting a healthy lifestyle that contributes to maintaining brain health and reducing future health risks.
