The College of Science, Department of Mathematics, held a seminar entitled "The Role of Awareness in Reducing the Spread of Drug Abuse" as part of the Anti-Drug Awareness Week activities. The seminar, presented by Dr. Jinan Abdul-Ridha Rasen, aimed to highlight a problem that is currently one of the biggest challenges facing countries worldwide, which are striving to combat it due to its serious health, social, economic, and security consequences: the problem of drug abuse. The seminar clarified that this problem is not limited to one type of drug, a specific country, or a particular class or segment of society, but rather encompasses all types, classes, and groups. The seminar recommended the necessity of awareness, which is considered the cornerstone and first line of defense in any effective strategy to reduce the spread of drug abuse.
