The University of Basrah organizes a seminar entitled (Encephalitozoon and its effects in immunocompromised patients)

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar  (Encephalitozoon: Silent Microsporidian Threats in Chronic Disease and Immunocompromised Patients) by the graduate student  (Zahraa Youssef Mohammed Rada)

The study aims . This study aims to highlight Encephalitozoon as one of the silent opportunistic microsporidian parasites capable of causing significant physiological damage inside human host cells, especially in patients with weakened immunity or chronic diseases. The aim is to understand how this parasite affects body tissues and organ functions, and to clarify the relationship between its intracellular invasion and the resulting clinical symptoms, which range from digestive disorders and malabsorption to weight loss and systemic complications. This emphasis underscores its clinical importance and the need for early diagnostic awareness.

and included The study included identifying the species of Encephalitozoon, its transmission and epidemiology, its physiological effects inside the body, as well as the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment.
