The Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, organized a seminar on improving natural coagulation for water treatment. The seminar, presented by Master's student Haider Salem Mahjar, aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of some local plant residues as natural coagulants in improving water quality. The seminar addressed traditional methods of wastewater treatment, the concept of adsorption, and coagulation and flocculation techniques.

The seminar also compared the effectiveness of chemical coagulants with plant-based coagulants as a sustainable solution.
