The Department of geoscience at the college of Science, under the auspices of the dean of the Faculty of Science and under the supervision of the head of the Department of geoscience, delivered an awareness seminar ((Dean Bassem Ghanem Hanoun, director of the media department at the Basra police command)) the seminar dealt with the role of university students in community service and the importance of conscious participation in the elections with emphasis on responsibility in the use of the electoral card and how to create a democratic environment for parliamentary elections. At the end of the seminar, the role of the students and their efforts in contributing to the construction of a civilized and prosperous homeland were praised .
