The Department of Earth Science at the college of science organized a scientific field trip to the Tayeb area in Maysan governorate for doctoral students and accompanied by supervising professors. The trip aims to introduce students to the quality, extent and properties of rock deposits dating back to the Triassic period within their geological formations, how they were formed, and the geological and structural factors that contributed to their formation . The trip included theoretical and practical lectures and explanation of geomorphological phenomena in the region, as well as taking models from multiple locations for analysis and study. The trip is considered part of the students ' study program and linking the theoretical side with the practical side to increase understanding and assimilation .
