The Department of Pathological Analyses at the Faculty of science at the University of Basra organized a scientific lecture on meat and human health.  

The lecture aimed at clarifying the importance of meat as a food source rich in proteins, indicating the health risks resulting from meat corruption or contamination with microbes and methods of detection and prevention to ensure consumer safety, in addition to clarifying the importance of veterinary control over slaughterhouses.
