The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on climate and biodiversity.
The workshop included an explanation of the relationship between climate change and biodiversity loss.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Dunya Ali Hussein, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology, and attended by staff from the Directorate of Education in Basra Governorate, aimed to highlight the importance of preserving living species and their role in stabilizing ecosystems. It also discussed possible solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change on wildlife and plant life.
The workshop recommended supporting educational programs that enhance environmental awareness, encouraging research projects and community initiatives aimed at protecting biodiversity, and enhancing cooperation between academic and educational institutions to consolidate concepts of sustainable development.
