The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (A physiological study of the effect of zinc on the toxicity of aluminum chloride) by the graduate student . Najwa Hashem abdـAlaziz
The study aims to evaluate the toxic effects of doses of (20, 40, 100) mg/kg of aluminum chloride on some physiological parameters, study the improving effect of zinc chloride at a dose of 50 mg/kg, and determine some histopathological changes in the liver and kidneys of male experimental mice treated with aluminum chloride and zinc chloride. The study included identifying the physiological and histological changes resulting from administering different doses of aluminum chloride and revealing the role of zinc as a clear preventive and therapeutic factor to return things to normal. The study recommended conducting further studies on the effect of aluminum toxicity on some organs such as the testes to study its effect on reproductive efficiency, using other doses of aluminum chloride, conducting molecular and genetic studies related to genes associated with aluminum toxicity, using medicinal plants as a natural antioxidant, and comparing their effect on aluminum toxicity with zinc chloride.
