University of Basrah researches design of molecular sensors for glucose and COVID-19 drugs

The College of Science at the University of Basrah discussed a doctoral thesis by student Rasha Hani Hamid, entitled (Design of Molecular Sensors for Glucose and COVID-19 Drugs Using Transition Metal-Decorated Nanocages: Quantitative Computational Methods)

.

The thesis employed density functional theory (DFT) to design and characterize novel nanostructures for biomedical applications.

The study aimed to develop glucose sensors, hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) detection systems, and nanoplatforms for delivering the drug favipiravir to treat COVID-19, thereby enhancing medical and environmental applications.
