The University of Basrah discusses a seminar on Robust One-Way Analysis of Variance: a Simulation Study and Application

The College of Science in the Department of Mathematics discussed a seminar entitled Robust One-Way Analysis of Variance: a Simulation Study and Application for postgraduate student Asmaa A. Sweedan. This seminar addresses the problem of the classical F-test in one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) being highly sensitive to outliers and deviations from normality, and reviews alternative approaches such as the nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test. The study proposes a robust version of the F-test based on a reweighted M-estimator using Hampel’s weight function, along with constructing an approximate distribution for the proposed statistic.
